Wrestling with Technology11/15/2016 I have been sitting here for about an hour just thinking about what exactly would be the best to do this post and I think I came up with something. See I always pride myself on being able to compare wrestling or find commonalities between Wrestling and other professions pretty easily. But you maybe asking yourself how does technology actually relate to the wild mixed up world of professional wrestling. Well that's what this post about isn't it.
As of this writing it's pretty clear to say how much of an effect that technology has had on the pro-wrestling business over the years. With the introduction of Internet PPV and just live streaming in general the fan have been brought both closer to the action and are at the point where they don't even have to leave the house to support their favorite Indy companies. This is great for fans of a company like PWG whose PPV events sell out in like 4-6 minutes every show and it normally happens right way they go on sale. Well the benefit of technology is that their is no seat limit. Without the ability to live stream online for certain companies it would be disaster. As it would mess up some companies entire business which revolves around the this one idea. For that reason it is better to have a multi-faceted business model thus giving you the ability to not put all your eggs in one basket. Because technology is ever involving sort of like the wrestling business and allowing your company to focus on just one financial gain concept isn't the best way to make money. In actuality it might be one of the worst ways to make to run a business because much like those promoters in the territory era that thought things would just go back to normal and refused to changed well their is a reason why they sold to Vince first. Technology is always evolving and you need to evolve with it or be left in the dust.
